Screenyard’s rooftop cinema continues at Jam Park with the classic 1970s box-office smash, Jaws — the 1970s summer box office smash and the most famous nautical movie of all time. Rooftop Cinema will be bringing you the best in cult moves in our very own pop-up cinema on the top floor of Jampark. Grab a bite or a beverage in Jampark’s diner Eatery Park before a screening in our open-air but fully heated and weather-friendly rooftop.
With a spine tingling soundtrack by John Williams and the tagline “You’ll never go in the water again!”, Spieglberg’s 1975 shark saga set the standard for the summer blockbuster and frightened millions of moviegoers out of the water. When a young woman is killed by a shark while skinny-dipping near the New England tourist town of Amity Island, police chief Martin Brody (Roy Scheider) wants to close the beaches, but mayor Larry Vaughn (Murray Hamilton) overrules him, fearing that the loss of tourist revenue will cripple the town. Ichthyologist Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss) and grizzled ship captain Quint (Robert Shaw), the only local fisherman willing to take on a Great White (especially since the price is right), offer to help Brody capture the killer beast, and the trio engage in an epic battle of man vs. nature.
